Calibration

The skill of reading another person's micro-cues (breathing, skin tone, voice tempo, eye movement) to track their internal state.

Calibration is sensory acuity applied to a specific person. A practitioner calibrates by establishing a baseline (how the client looks and sounds in a neutral state) and watching for shifts. Calibration tells the trainer when a technique is working, when a client is congruent, and when something the client says doesn't match their non-verbal output. It is the perceptual foundation that makes every other NLP technique possible.
