Unconscious mind

The portion of mental processing that runs outside conscious awareness, where NLP locates most behavioral change.

NLP treats the unconscious as a separate, intelligent system that handles habits, emotions, and pattern recognition. Most NLP techniques aim at unconscious-level change rather than conscious insight, because unconscious change tends to persist while conscious decisions tend to slip back. The Milton model is the primary linguistic interface to the unconscious.
