TOTE model

A four-step model (test - operate - test - exit) NLP borrowed from cognitive psychology to describe behavior sequences.

TOTE describes a feedback loop: the system tests a condition, operates to change it, tests again, and exits when satisfied. NLP uses TOTE to map strategies: every skilled behavior includes an entry test, operations, an exit test, and a clear exit. Modeling someone's excellence often means mapping their TOTE.
