Modeling
The systematic study and replication of someone's excellence by identifying their conscious and unconscious strategies.
Modeling was NLP's original purpose. Bandler and Grinder modeled Perls, Satir, and Erickson to extract reproducible patterns. The modeler observes the exemplar across many instances, hypothesizes the strategy, installs and tests it in themselves, then teaches it. Modeling is how new NLP techniques are still developed today.
