Pacing

Matching a client's verbal and non-verbal patterns to build unconscious rapport before attempting to lead.

Pacing is the first half of pacing-leading. The trainer matches breathing rate, posture, tempo, predicate use, and emotional tone enough that the client's nervous system registers safety. Sustained pacing creates the unconscious permission that makes leading possible.
