Fast phobia cure

A double-dissociation protocol, also called the V/K dissociation or rewind technique, that drains the emotional charge from a specific phobia.

The fast phobia cure works by changing how a fear memory is coded rather than by exposure. The client watches the phobic event as a black-and-white movie from a doubly dissociated position - watching themselves watch the screen from a projection booth. They then associate into the safe final frame and run the movie backwards, fast, in colour, repeating until the charge is gone. It is used for specific phobias and discrete fear responses, and is not appropriate for trauma or PTSD without specialist clinical training.
